My Story
Embarking on her professional journey nearly two decades ago, her focus initially involved working with children, utilizing Art Therapy as a primary intervention. Currently, Yolanda works with individual adults, couples, and adult families, integrating an attachment framework and psychodynamic model into her practice.
Yolanda is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, holding additional credentials from The Toronto Art Therapy Institute, York University (Bachelor's in Psychology), and Concordia University (Bachelor of Arts). Her treatment approach is rooted in a client-centered integrated model, incorporating elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
Yolanda is a compassionate guide, collaboratively assisting clients in their personal quest for emotional balance and well-being. She has experience supporting individuals navigating various psychological challenges, encompassing grief, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, and issues related to parenting partnership discord, as well as broader relationship and marital concerns.
Beyond her clinical endeavours, she has devoted several years to supervising master-level students undergoing therapist training in Ontario contributing to the growth of the next generation of mental health professionals.
