Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy with Mindful Pleasures Therapy

Life can feel overwhelming when you are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, low self-esteem, or major life changes. Individual therapy offers a private and supportive space to better understand what you are experiencing, develop new ways of coping, and work toward meaningful change.

Mindful Pleasures Therapy provides virtual individual therapy across Ontario. Our clinicians bring different areas of training, experience, and specialization, allowing you to connect with a therapist whose approach fits your needs and goals.

What Is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is one-on-one psychotherapy focused on your emotional well-being, relationships, experiences, and personal goals. Therapy can provide space to explore patterns that may be affecting your life, understand difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, and develop greater self-awareness.

There is no single reason someone needs to begin therapy. Some people come to therapy during a particularly difficult period, while others want to better understand themselves, improve their relationships, or create lasting changes in their lives.

What Does Individual Therapy Look Like?

Therapy begins by getting to know you, what brought you to counselling, and what you would like to change or better understand.

Your therapist may help you explore emotions, thoughts, behaviours, relationships, past experiences, and patterns that are affecting your current life. Depending on the therapist and your goals, approaches may include mindfulness, CBT, DBT, attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems-informed work, emotion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, somatic approaches, and other integrative psychotherapy methods.

Therapy is collaborative. Your goals and comfort level help guide the process.

Virtual Individual Therapy Across Ontario

All Mindful Pleasures Therapy sessions are offered virtually, allowing you to access psychotherapy from a private location that works for you.

Online therapy can provide greater flexibility for people balancing work, school, caregiving, relationships, or busy schedules while removing the need to travel to an office.

Our therapists work with clients throughout Ontario.

Finding the Right Therapist

The relationship you develop with your therapist can be an important part of therapy. Our team includes clinicians with different backgrounds, lived experiences, therapeutic approaches, and areas of specialization.

Some clinicians may focus particularly on areas such as trauma, relationships, South Asian mental health, addiction, first responder mental health, young adults, sexuality, identity, or culturally responsive psychotherapy.

You can explore our team profiles to learn more about each therapist before deciding who may be the right fit.
